Ancient Tree White Tea – Floral & Fruity Fragrance

US $38.00 – US $380.00

From Lincang’s Bangdong snow mountains, at 1,800-2,000 meters, our ancient arbor tea embodies centuries of natural terroir expression. These centenarian tea trees, thriving in pristine forest conditions, yield exceptional maocha with pronounced serrated margins and prominent veins – hallmarks of authentic gushu character. The liquor presents crystalline clarity with a remarkable huigan (returning sweetness) and distinctive yunxiang (cloud-mist fragrance), characteristic of high-mountain cultivation. Traditional processing preserves the tea’s wild vitality and qingxiang (pure notes), allowing for extended gongfu brewing sessions of up to 15 steepings. Experience the authentic expression of Bangdong terroir, where each infusion reveals the profound complexity of true ancient tree essence.

Description

“Originating from the great snow mountains of Bangdong in Lincang, Yunnan, at elevations between 1,800-2,000 meters, this pristine tea region is blessed with abundant sunlight, ideal humidity, and ancient tea trees growing amidst misty mountains. These century-old trees have thrived naturally in the forest for hundreds of years, perfectly adapted to their natural environment and pest resistance, requiring no pesticides or fertilizers, maintaining their most primitive vitality.

Traditional Craftsmanship:
Following simple, traditional tea processing methods focusing on picking, withering, and sun-drying, with minimal human intervention to preserve both the wild character and gentle nature of the tea leaves. The ancient tree buds, though challenging to harvest and sometimes irregular in appearance, contain exceptional qualities.

Quality Characteristics:
– Dry Leaves: Thick and elastic leaves with distinct veins, showing irregular serrated edges characteristic of ancient trees
– Aroma: Fresh mountain wilderness character, subtle and lasting, with hints of floral notes in multiple layers
– Tea Liquor: Light yellow and crystal clear, naturally sweet with delicate fresh notes
– Taste: Rock-sugar sweetness, smooth and rich texture, lasting through multiple infusions, best brewed at 85-95°C water for up to 15 steepings

Terroir Features:
The Bangdong tea region, shrouded in clouds and mist, stands distinctly apart from other Lincang areas. Its unique geographical environment creates tea of exceptional quality, with rich yet subtle aromatics and a smooth, sweet liquor that delights the senses.

Harvested from century-old trees and processed through natural fermentation, combines the fresh vivacity of new tea with the steady character of ancient trees. It represents excellence in both drinking experience and collection value.”

Anji Baicha 安吉白茶 is grown in Anji, Zhejiang, which literally translates to "Anji white tea," but Anji white tea belongs to the green tea category. Anji white tea has been produced since the 1970s, it is harvested in a low-temperature environment (lower than 23°C) every spring, due to the hindrance of the synthesis of chlorophyll in the new leaves, the leaf color will gradually become albino. As the temperature rises, the leaf color will return to green. The harvest period is only 30 days (usually from April 15 to May 15) The amino acid content is 5-10.6%, which is 3-4 times higher than ordinary green tea. Polyphenols are less than other green teas, so Anji white tea has a very fresh taste without bitterness.

Longjing 龙井 is grown in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, which literally translates to "dragon well," Longjing tea was granted the status of imperial tea, in the Qing dynasty by the Kangxi Emperor. Longjing tea tastes sweet, mellow, and rounded. Pre-Qingming Longjing Pre-Qingming Longjing tea requires it to be produced from the first spring shoots prior to the Qingming Festival (Chinese farming calendar) on the 5th of April each year. There will usually be seasonal rain for a few days during the Qingming Festival. Indeed, after the rain, the temperature heats up, which accelerates the growth of the tea plant. When the tea bud gets too big, it starts to lose complexity in the brewed flavor, therefore, Pre-Qingming tea is considered better.
